12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 sticks plus 2 T butter
2 1/4 C packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla extract
2 C flour
1 t salt
3/4 C pecans or walnuts, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a 13x9 baking pan. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips with the condensed milk and 2 T butter while stirring slowly. Remove from the heat and cool slightly. Melt the remaining 1/2 pound of butter, stir in the sugar, and add to the chocolate mixture. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla, flour and salt; fold in nuts. Turn the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Do not overbake. Cut while warm.
